If you think that fighting your way through the night of the living dead is frightening, imagine being the living dead.

The Cotard Delusion is a rare neurological disorder in which the sufferer believes that they are dead. Not only that, but variations of the delusion include the belief that they are rotting, missing organs or even that they do not exist at all.

There was one case in 1990, in which a Scottish man who suffered brain injury during a motorcycle accident became convinced that he had died and gone to hell.

Actually, his mother had taken him to South Africa after he was discharged from hospital, and the extreme heat had forced him to come to the hellish conclusion, and that he had "borrowed [his] mother's spirit to show [him] around hell" whilst she slept in Scotland.
