9 Ways You're Picturing Aliens Wrong
8. No Sex Please, We're Aliens
A common trope in sci-fi is that of sexy aliens. They're often just depicted as attractive humans with funny coloured skin and maybe a couple of bumps on their foreheads.
Female aliens will almost always have a generous rack, regardless of whether they're of mammalian origin, and any space-romp worths its salt will feature a good bit of interspecies bonking.
You can see why they do it, it's much easier for us to relate to as humans and, well, they're our stories, but anyone expecting the boy-meets-girl dynamic in extraterrestrials could be in for a shock.
Even just the animals on Earth have evolved a wide variety of ways to get their freak on. They might be hermaphroditic and able to fertilise themselves; they might reproduce asexually, one day simply spontaneously producing a genetically identical copy of themselves.
Hell, they might even have figured out a way of weaving themselves on biological looms, who knows?
