9 Dinosaurs That Were Hilariously Dorky

1. Creepy Mystery Arms Found To Be Dork In Disguise

Okay, maybe this one isn't so much dorky as creepy beyond all reason. For ages, all we had found of this mysterious dinosaur were its two huge arms that give of the definite vibe of the zombie chickens from Rayman. This gruesome find was given the appropriate name of Deinocheirus, Greek for "terrible hand" and fired the imagination of scientists and artistic enthusiasts. Each arm is two and a half metres long, ending in three 20cm claws. We have since found fragments of the rest of the body, and it turns out that these are not the disproportionately massive limbs of a top-heavy dinosaur, but actually the well-proportioned limbs of an unexpectedly huge ornithomimid - almost the same size as T-rex. Apparently, it had never occurred to palaeontologists that the owner of these arms might also be huge. Despite its size, it turns out that Deinocheirus was something of a gentle, dorky giant, with a long, toothless bill for a mouth, a pot-belly and a hunchback. Hobbies include making dreamcatchers and listening to Fleetwood Mac. Want to write for What Culture Science?
