Disneyland: 5 Insider Secrets From A Former Disney Princess
2. Spotting A Character Out Of Costume
While most of the time, characters are brought to location via van through private streets backstage or underground tunnels (yes, the tunnels are real), sometimes they’re forced to walk through the park to get to their "set".
This generally won’t be the case for princesses, as their wigs and makeup will give it away, but it’s almost too easy to spot an out-of-costume fur character. If you see someone in a grey top with navy shorts or sweatpants carrying a giant black suitcase that looks like it could fit a Mickey head that’s a character actor.
As if the outfit didn't look like it belonged to a convict already, each article of clothing a performer wears has a barcode right in the middle of it to ensure each piece gets brought back to costuming.
Often you’ll see these people sweaty, without makeup and out of breath from carrying the giant costumes.
