Every Epic Rap Battles Of History Ranked

5. Western Philosophers Vs. Eastern Philosophers

Battle: The two teams are Confucius (MC Jin), Sun Tzu (Timothy DeLaGhetto) and Lao Tzu (KRNFX) as the Eastern Philosophers, and Socrates (Lloyd), Friedrich Nietzsche (Peter) and Voltaire (Zach Sherwin) as the Western Philosophers. In the end, both teams turn on each other and start arguing amongst themselves.

This battle from the second half of season four is another ERB masterpiece.

This fast-paced battle is like an all-you-can-eat buffet of great bars. It drops one hilarious, clever and savage line after another and never lets up; honestly, there's not a single bad line here and this is one of the best-written episodes the show has ever delivered.

And like many of the best battles, it's a great history lesson. Once it finishes you'll be eager to go and read a bit more about all six of the philosopher's depicted here.

It's also got that unexpected but hilarious ending in which the teams turn on each other and drop some more great bars against each other. This ending worked remarkably well, so maybe the ERB team should try this conclusion again in a future episode.

Best Line:

Confucius: [To Neitzsche] "And you killed God so I got to ask: did he die of shame when he made your moustache?"
