6. Nightingales: Blood Pit

House Overview:

In Ancient Rome a drought has befallen the land and the emperor has decreed that a gladiatorial games will run non-stop until the rain returns. Blood runs deep and attracts the ravenous Nightingales. These ancient beings are "a grisly race of creatures that have been here since the dawn of time" who feed on the dead and dying. With the vicious Gladiators and the frenzied Nightingales, how will anyone make it out alive?

The Hype:

Being honest, when this original concept house was first announced it wasn't high on my list. It wasn't until chatting with Universal's Patrick Braillard, a Creative Development Show Director for Halloween Horror Nights that this maze piqued my interest.

Patrick described the detail that the team are putting into the maze, even tying it in with a real-life missing Roman legion. As a history geek this definitely pushes my buttons.

He also confirmed that we can expect a gore-fest in this house. I mean "blood" is even in the title. Something tells me this will be a house where the smell is just as potent as the scares.

Personally this house is something I can't wait to walk through.
