1. Disappear

If the men did successfully make it out of Alcatraz, across the bay and out of the country the last thing they would need to do to avoid capture would be to disappear off the face of the earth. This is exactly what the men did. The case remains a mystery today and there is no hard evidence to say either way if they made it or not.

If the men did indeed survive the crossing and are still alive today they would all be in their eighties. Members of the Anglin family received mysterious notes and flowers that led them to believe that the brothers made it and rumours have circulated that two tall and peculiar looking ladies attended the funeral of the Anglin€™s mother. The story sounds like the script of a Hollywood movie and has become a legend in its own right but it is highly likely that the true fate of Morris and the Anglin Brothers will never be known.
