Training Process
All of the eventual Mars inhabitants will be required to undergo eight years worth of training for the mission. This training phase, according to Mars One, will take place in a secluded location. The astronauts will learn vital skills for their survival on the planet. At least two crew members will receive extensive medical training, two more will be trained in how to use and repair all of the mission's equipment, while several other skills, such as psychology, electronics and basic physiotherapy will be taught to all of the selected applicants. In addition to these survival skills, the applicants will receive personal training on how to deal with the challenges they will face on the mission and how to prepare, mentally, for their new life. Furthermore, all of the crew members will undergo a number of simulation missions, in order to prepare them for the journey to the planet and to recreate the atmosphere they will experience once they have arrived.
