Netflix To Launch In The UK & Ireland In Early 2012
World's leading internet subscription service for TV and Film set to open up on the UK and Irish market next year.
Netflix, the leading global Internet film subscription service, have today announced that it will expand into the UK and Ireland territories in early 2012, offering unlimited TV shows and films streaming instantly over the Internet to TVs and computers for one low monthly subscription price. The company will launch as a direct rival to market leaders LoveFilm, with members able to instantly watch a wide array of titles on their TVs via a range of consumer electronics devices capable of streaming from Netflix, as well as on PCs, Macs and mobile tablets and phones. As the world's leading internet subscription service, Netflix has been streaming to its more than 25 million members since 2007 with the initial service in the U.S. being supplemented with moves into Canada in 2010 and 43 other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in September 2011. The company has revolutionised entertainment across the Americas by offering a huge selection of films and TV shows to enjoy whenever and wherever they desire. Among the large and expanding base of devices streaming from Netflix are Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintendo's Wii and Sony's PS3 consoles; an array of Blu-ray disc players, Internet-connected TVs, home theatre systems, digital video recorders and Internet video players; Apple's iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, as well as Apple TV and Google TV. In all, more than 700 devices that stream from Netflix are available.
