New Harry Potter Themed Ride Coming To Universal Orlando Resort
Dragon Challenge to be replaced by new coaster experience.
Universal Orlando Resort have just revealed that in 2019 they will be opening a brand new attraction at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Replacing Dragon Challenge at Island's of Adventure, Universal have described the new attraction as the "most highly-themed coaster experiences we’ve created".
The brand new attraction is described as a thrill ride featuring your favourite character's from J.K.Rowling's Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
So far we know very little of what to expect. Universal were very shy on the details except that "It will combine a new level of storytelling with an action-packed adventure…and a few surprises along the way."
Universal's blog described it as "fun for the entire family". We don't know exactly what the ride will entail, other than it will be a coaster. Could VR technology be coming to Universal Orlando Resort, or something more even more exciting?
The creative team at Universal Orlando Resort will be working closely with the production team at Warner Bros. Studios. Just like the other attractions and experiences at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter the teams will work together so that the guests can really feel like that they are a part of the movies.
When Dragon Challenge first opened in 1999 it was called Dueling Dragons and was a part of the Lost Continent area of the park. When Hogsmede opened in 2010 the attraction was re-designed to a Triwizard Tournament theme.
Universal haven't given a precise opening date for the new attraction except that it will be 2019. The last day that guests will be able to ride Dragon Challenge will be Monday 4th September.
