Skull Island: Reign Of Kong Review - 7 Ways It’s Awesome
1. Skull Island: Reign Of Kong Is Universal's Most Perfectly Themed Ride
Anyone who spends any time reading about theme parks will know that the word "immersive" is the buzz word of the times. Guests want and now expect to be transported into a different world. Skull Island: Reign of Kong does just that from the moment you stumble across its entrance.
The location of Skull Island makes perfect sense on a park map. Right next to Jurassic Park, a place where prehistoric creatures roam, it seems apt that this boarders Skull Island where the same thing could be said.
As we mentioned earlier in the article the imagery is very much the same as Peter Jackson's 2005 movie, and that's not a bad thing. Possibly one of the best elements of the film was the visuals and they have been transported well with this ride.
The show building has been cleverly disguised with misty mountains. This is a mysterious place on a jungle island, a hard job to do when the area borders the hyper colourful Toon Lagoon.
The detail that has gone into every corner of the ride is unreal. You are actually there. You feel your nerves building as you walk head through the caves. You are an explorer waiting to find out what awaits around the corner.
Universal has managed to take you to Skull Island. Remember, unlike the Harry Potter attractions, this is a ride that has created a themed area rather than a theme park land that have rides in it. Creatives here have had to build a world around the ride and what a job they have done.
