7. Trek Versus Wars
Star Wars is very different to Star Trek. One is a long time ago in a galaxy far far away and the other is in our own not too distant future. One was ruined by George Lucas with the pretty terrible prequels and the even more terrible Hayden Christensen and the other one, Star Trek, is awesome. It existed before Star Wars and Captain Kirk would definitely kick Han Solos ass in a bar room brawl, (though the outcome of this scrap may well hinge on whether Solo would or wouldnt shoot first, but thats a subject for a whole different list.) To further muddy the waters in the Star Wars Star Trek face off, Lucasfilm have just hired current Star Trek film director JJ Abrams to helm Star Wars episode 7, forging a link between the films that no fan wants. Lets hope that Abrams doesnt hire Chris Pine as Luke Skywalker to confuse the issue even more. As for my advice to those dating a Trekker? Stay far far away from this conversation and dont boldy go into idle comparasions between the films. And never NEVER say your prefer Star Wars to Star Trek, even if thats what you think.
