Toy Story Land: 5 Ups And 4 Downs

3. No Al's Toy Barn

Strangely there's also no dedicated store in Toy Story Land either.

Rather than have one major store, there are small kiosks dotted around the land. These are pretty cute and designed to look like Playmobil Camper Vans and do suit the land perfectly.

Despite that, it is a small disappointment that there is no store. Again, I doubt that this is a theming issue, Andy could have easily hung a home made "Al's Toy Barn" sign over a plastic looking Playmobil stable. For those really want some Toy Story specific merchandise you have to look all over the park, there's no one-stop shop within the land.

My main guesses as to why Disney has chosen to exclude these more obvious things is that; they ran out of space, money/time or want to prevent guests hanging out in these areas.

Rumours are that some of Toy Story Land's budget was lost due to increased spending on Star Wars Land. This would suggest that Disney were forced to cut back on large expenditure in order to meet the tight construction deadline that was placed upon Toy Story Land.

With huge crowds expected to descend on the park with the opening of Galaxy's Edge, Disney really needed Toy Story Land open sooner rather than later. Large, themed buildings such as restaurants and stores take time, perhaps that just wasn't in the budget at this time? Maybe there'll be a Phase II and we might get these things later?
