Windows 10 Secrets You Need To Know About

5. The Command Prompt Is Now A Cool Place To Hang Out

If you're a bit of a tech wiz who likes to spend their time in the down-and-dirty command prompt - pinging websites, ciphering your hard drive, or tracking your PC's energy usage - then you know it's not a very pretty place. Windows 10 has added a bit of swagger to the trusty CMD. Crucially, you can now copy-and-paste commands into it, which will make life easier to chuck in long directory names or commands that you find on the internet. As well as changing CMD's colours (which you could do before), you can now also adjust the transparency of the window, so it's not just a big black block on your screen. To do this: Right-click the Command Prompt title bar, click Properties > Color tab then use the slider at the bottom to change the window opacity.
