How Were These Horror Movie Villains Destroyed?

Do you remember how these horror monsters met their end?

The Evil Dead
Warner Bros.

What is any horror movie without a compelling and memorable antagonist to strike fear into the characters' hearts? No horror film can succeed without it, whether the villain is a grotesque monster or a more human evil.

And though the grand horror tradition dictates that the likes of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Michael Myers return from the dead in each new installment, there's something to be said for a villain which suffers a memorable - and permanent! - death.

These horror antagonists, among the most iconic that the genre has ever seen, were all wiped off the table in wonderfully grisly and creative ways.

Yet given how many horror movies we've all seen over the years, just how many of these deaths do you truly remember down to the finest detail?

What did the hero have to do to finally put these villains down for the count? Stabbing? Shooting? Blowing them up? Or perhaps something a little more bizarre and left-field.

The answers are at the end as ever, so good luck!

1. Jack Torrance (The Shining)
