After what seems like an eternity, the famed Skywalker Saga is finally coming to a close as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits the silver screen.

Already - as is ever the case - The Rise of Skywalker is splitting opinion, with some labelling the movie a triumph that perfectly concludes the nine-picture arc of the larger Skywalker Saga, and others lambasting the film as the worst offering in the entire franchise.

Regardless of your eventual thoughts on The Rise of Skywalker, there's no doubting the Star Wars franchise's place in the history of cinema, and there's no doubting the fondness that we all have for the original trilogy of Star Wars movies. And it's on those three films - A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi - that we're going to focus our attention on here.
