8. Super Bowl 32: John Elway Spins For The First Down
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkJRaAFzK54 Both drafted in 1983, John Elway and Dan Marino were, for years, the quarterbacks to never win a Super Bowl. Success came quickly for both of them, combining to make four Super Bowl appearances from 1984 to 1989, but as their careers stretched through the nineties, it seemed that they may go down as two of the best to play the game, but never win 'the big one'. As we all know now, Marino never got his ring, but Elway fought like hell to get what would in fact be the first of his two Super Bowl titles. At the age of thirty seven, Elway still posted Pro Bowl numbers and got the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl. What capped it all off and showed just how badly he wanted to win, was Elway's crucial run on third down deep in Green Bay Packer territory. Escaping pressure, Elway scrambles to pick up the first down and is leveled by two Packer defenders so hard he spins in mid air and lands just across the marker. Then he gets up and goes back for the next play. Because it didn't matter how old he was, how hard you hit him or how much he had lost on the big stage before, John Elway was getting that first down and with it his Super Bowl title.
