It's not that Scoggins was anywhere near a shot, but he did start his UFC run by going 2-0 in the promotion, only to have since dropped to 2-2 with two straight losses including the rear-naked choke submission to Moraga. Flyweight can continue using recycled challengers for so long - eventually, the UFC will need to start protecting fighters in bookings, or consider recruiting more lighter fighters or bringing them in via The Ultimate Fighter.
