10 MMA Champions Who Held World Titles Elsewhere
3. Henry Cejudo (Olympic Gold Medal)
It takes something pretty darn special to over-shadow being both the Flyweight and Bantamweight champion in one single promotion, but that's the situation that the ever understated, Henry Cejudo, finds himself in.
The elephant that needs addressing in this room is that of the American Freestyle wrestler's Olympic gold at the 2008 Beijing Games in said discipline.
Ok, so this isn't a World title sense in the traditional sense, but to be an Olympic Champion in any sport requires you to take in the absolute cream of the crop from the top nations on the Planet. So, in your writer's eyes, he more than qualifies for this list.
Cejudo doesn't need much drumming up as he tends to remind anyone who will listen of his Golden Olympian status, so hopefully his inclusion won't add fuel to his ever evolving sh*t talking.
Cejudo has used his Freestyle expertise to excellent effect so far in his MMA tenure, ranking #3 in the pound for pound chart and racking up a record of 15-2.
Cejudo isn't the only ever Olympic gold medalist to step into the UFC. He is the third, with Mark Schultz and Kevin Jackson completing the list.
The man is currently inactive until 2020 due to a shoulder injury but you can imagine the standard of hype he will conjure up for his return to the octagon.
