10 Most Controversial Motocross Riders Of All Time

4. James 'Bubba' Stewart

James Stewart has been labelled the fastest motocross rider on the planet on multiple occasions. However, it is not always his speed on the track that has grabbed the headlines. Stewart has had his fair share of trouble on the track. Most notably a move made on the winning-est motocross rider in AMA motocross history, Ricky Carmichael, in which the young Stewart landed on Carmichael in a reckless pass attempt. But his first run in with real controversy came in March, 2011, when Stewart was arrested for Impersonating a Police officer. He had fitted a flashing blue light to his pickup and attempted to pull over another truck. When the driver of the truck identified himself as a genuine Police officer, Stewart reportedly sped away. He plead no contest to all charges involved and was ordered to community service and a fine. Controversy struck again when, in a recent random drug test at a round of the 2014 Supercross series, Stewart tested positive for a banned substance. The substance, it seems, was Adderall, supposedly prescribed to Stewart for ADHD. However, he did not register this with the WADA (world anti-doping agency) and is currently still suspended from FIM events, therefore has missed all of the 2015 season so far!
