Okay, so this one is a tad harsh since there are positives to draw from Andy Johnson's Everton career, but the chrome-domed striker did fall marginally short of his potential.

Four successful years at Crystal Palace, one of which included 21 Premier League goals, catapulted the pacey forward into the England setup and inspired the Toffees to smash their transfer record to secure his services for £8.6 million.

Johnson started with a bang at Goodison, winning over the fan base with a brace during a 3-0 win over local rivals Liverpool, and finishing as the club's top scorer for 2006–07 with 11 league strikes plus one in the FA Cup.

But things threatened to turn sour when diving accusation from opposing managers seemed to get to the striker, leading to a 13-match barren spell. He was, however, later cleared of such allegations by the Professional Game Match Officials Board.

Many factors conspired against Johnson towards the end of his Everton career. An injury layoff coupled with the arrival of Yakubu and a formation change saw his first-team opportunities limited, and an eight-figure switch to Fulham followed in 2008.

Perhaps the most successful aspect of Johnson's Everton career is the fact they made a slight profit on him.
