A truly elite-level defensive force, Bruce Bowen commanded a great deal of respect during his eight years with the San Antonio Spurs, capturing three championship rings in the process. It was an especially impressive career considering his difficult entry into the sport, going undrafted in 1993 and forced to start his career with various teams in France. However, a major controversy was attached to Bowen throughout his career regarding his footwork when guarding jump shooters. He was consistently accused of sliding a foot underneath the airborne player, intending to distract them with the possibility of a dangerous landing. Although he always denied such allegations, evidence certainly exists of players tripping over Bowen's outstretched feet and even rolling their ankles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THGJJHln4Co
