10 Most Unlikely NBA Finals Heroes Ever

10. Jason Terry - Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks' triumph in 2011 was largely down to the talismanic efforts of Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, but couldn't have been done without the impact of several unlikely contributors - including J.J. Barea and Shawn Marion. None were more off the wall than Jason Terry, a pure jump shooter with no additional tools in his arsenal (other than a boatload of inflated confidence). Terry delivered an exercise in tempting fate by getting a tattoo proclaiming himself an NBA Champion at the start of the 2010/11 season. His karmic retribution never came; the guard instead drilled several key shots en route to the Mavs' 4-2 finals victory over the Miami Heat, and kept morale high with his infectious, relentless optimism.
