It was calculated in 2014 that about 78% of players will go bankrupt within 2 years of leaving the NFL. One of the most recent high profile cases was former Titan (and brief Eagle) Vince Young, who defaulted on a $1.9m payday loan in 2012, before filing for bankruptcy in mid 2014. The league has started to implement financial guidance for it's athletes, as a means of keeping them from this fate.
