3. Brett Favre - New York Jets (Bypassing Green Bay)

Legendary QB Brett Favre did indeed end up playing for the Jets during the 2008 season, but how would he be remembered today had the Jets drafted him, something that very nearly happened. Favre was involved in a small web of complex deals. The Jets had already used their first round pick in the supplemental draft the year before, though fortunately Favre fell into the second round. There was an apparent deal in place for the Cardinals to select Favre and swap him to the Jets, though they backed out, and the Falcons swooped for the quarterback. The Jets' personnel director Ron Wolf had scouted Favre numerous times and loved what he saw, meaning that when he got the GM job with the Packers, he finally got his hands on Favre following a trade.
