One of a handful of players with a legitimate claim to the title of "Best Player Ever", Diego Maradona spent two injury-hampered seasons at the Nou Camp, but still managed to grab a respectable 22 goals in 36 league appearances. He helped the team to a league and cup double in 1983, but departed under a cloud of controversy. The 1984 Cope del Rey final turned out to be the Argentinian's last Barcelona appearance, as he was the central figure of a post-game brawl which was reportedly watched by over half of Spain (and King Juan Carlos). His exit was confirmed with a then-record transfer to Napoli, and the rest is history. Maradona went on to cement his status as the finest player on Earth with an untouchable series of performances at the 1986 World Cup, leaving Barca to ponder what might have been.
