Cambiasso shares a lot of similarities with the eventual number one entrant on this list - both under-appreciated players overshadowed by Real's 'Galacticos', despite impressing consistently on the pitch. The Argentinian voluntarily left the club as a result in 2004, a brave move considering he had won four trophies in his two short years there. At new club Inter, Cambiasso then went on to become the most successful Argentinian footballer in history (in terms of trophies won), eclipsing Real Madrid legend Alfredo di Stefano in the process. He helped Inter to a staggering five La Liga titles and four Coppas Italia in his decade of dominance, as well as a long-awaited Champions League trophy under Jose Mourinho in 2010.
