"Rangers Then, Rangers Now, Rangers Forever". This slogan was first uttered by Sandy Jardine, who sadly passed away in April, 2014. When Glasgow Rangers were castigated and thrown out of the then-Scottish Premier League, they found solace in the old Third Division. It was during the club's first match of that tumultuous time that Jardine took to the microphone. As Rangers prepared to play East Fife in the League Cup at Ibrox in August, 2012, Sandy spoke passionately about his love for the institution. 50,000 onlookers agreed with his sentiments, Rangers weren't going anywhere, despite the heavy criticism. There were tears in the eyes of old and young, as Sandy Jardine immortalised himself into Rangers history. A player for the club from 1965-1982, Jardine had already been mentioned as a favourite. His subsequent club, Heart Of Midlothian also regard him as a club legend, which shows the moral fiber Sandy Jardine had.
