10 Reasons Why England Can Win World Cup 2018
2. Russian Conditions
The playing conditions in the last World Cup were different to anything the English players had ever known, with exceedingly high temperatures and soaring humidity rates. Of course, Germany wouldn't have been familiar with those kinds of conditions either and still managed to win the whole thing, but a familiar climate can only help the Three Lions in their bid for the trophy.
In Russia, the weather and atmosphere will be much more to the players' liking, with similar temperatures and rainfall to England. The team has found a good base in Saint Petersburg and won't have to travel too far for their group games.
Clearly, the playing conditions aren't exactly going to be a game-deciding factor, yet history has shown that European teams tend to struggle in hot and humid climates like South America, but do much better on home turf. In playing in Russia, the Three Lions at least won't need to worry about needing time to adjust to a totally different climate.
