10 Strangest Ever Everton Signings

10. Per Kroldrup

A signing like Per Kroldrup is what happens when your scouting department fails to do its research before the chairman rubber stamps the necessary paperwork. A cursory glance over the Dane€™s physical attributes and injury record would have been enough to tell you he wasn€™t cut out for the Premier League, but then-manager David Moyes bizarrely agreed to part with £5 million for the Udinese defender in 2005. With the kind of a fragile frame that makes Daniel Sturridge look like the Terminator, Kroldrup was injured in a training session before the ink had dried on his four-year deal, and his apparent inability to stay fit saw him make just one appearance for the Blues. That was a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa. He was shipped back to Italy with Fiorentina 31 days later.
