10 Strangest Ever Everton Signings

5. Preki

Predrag Radosavljevic, better known as Preki, held his own as a squad player during his time at Everton between 1992 and 1994, but anyone connected to the club probably wondered whether then-manager Howard Kendall had fallen off the wagon when he signed a midfielder from the American Major Indoor Soccer League. A Yugoslavian with US citizenship, Preki swapped indoor football for the Goodison turf after impressing Kendall with his performances for St Louis Storm. A trial with the Toffees followed, leading to a permanent contract with the senior squad. The midfielder made 53 appearances for Everton, more than half of which were as a substitute, before returning to indoor football with San Jose Grizzlies. He later came back to England for a season-long stay at Portsmouth, after which he returned to the US and ended his career stateside. Preki was by no means one of the worst players ever to pull on a Everton jersey, but you€™d be hard pressed to find other top-flight players who graduated from indoor football.
