10 Talking Points Behind UFC 176's Cancellation

10. The Over-Saturation Of Shows

http://youtu.be/8TrOv8twbTU The theme in 2014 for the UFC has been the constant battle of over-saturation. Many journalists have repeatedly criticized for the amount of shows that they have decided to hold in 2014. It has now even gone to the extent of having two events in a single day. This has turned off many people, along with hurting other cards. We've seen on a few occasions now where an event is basically prospects, home-town fighters, and two well-known fighters in the main event. It has been rare that we saw an actual main card featuring at least three to four compelling fights. Besides the recent shows on Fox and a few pay-per-views, many main cards have left more to be desired for many fans. While Dana White is adamant about the surplus of shows not causing a negative effect, it's a telling sign that it has become negative to cancel an event. Over saturation has been proven in 2014, although it has allowed the UFC to test out international markets. There has been success in several markets such as Ireland, England, and China. Those particular events may have been successful, but it hasn't been erased as one of the main issues involving the UFC's current state.
