6. Pep Guardiola Once Said Barcelona Wouldn't Be Able To Afford Pedro

Well, not exactly. At a time when Pedro was starting to make a name for himself in the Barcelona team, despite the persistent questions about whether he was really of sufficient quality for the Catalans, Pep Guardiola often sprung to the 27-year-old's defence, and often with some light-hearted humour.

"If Pedro was Brazilian he'd be called Pedrinho," Guardiola once joked, before adding, "and we wouldn't have the money to sign him (if so)."
