10 Things UFC Want You To Forget About Chuck Liddell

1. Good Morning Texas Interview

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MF2vLQhpvc&feature=kp In what is sure to be remembered as the low-point in his career, Chuck Liddell showed up for an interview with Good Morning Texas to promote the film 300 appearing to be under the influence of some form of narcotics. The interviewer tried in vain to draw coherent answers out of Chuck but was met with slurred speech, nonsense and even Chuck drifting into sleep €“ he was eventually forced to hurriedly end the interview when Chuck asked him who he would be fighting next. This interview combined with the allegations of Tito Ortiz and the sightings of Chuck partying just hours before his fight with Rampage paint a very troubled picture of Liddell€™s internal state at this time. President Dana White tried to explain the situation, stating that Chuck had taken a large dose of sedatives the night before to treat a supposed bout of pneumonia. The Good Morning Texas interview understandably caused the Nevada State Athletic Commission to attempt to test Liddell for drugs. He may have passed with flying colours, but the test was conducted too late to have picked up recreational drugs in his system. Two months later Chuck had lost his light heavyweight title to Rampage and his fighting career had well-and-truly taken a nose dive.
