10 Things You Didn't Know About Matthew Dellavedova

9. He Went Undrafted

Despite impressing at college, Dellavedova went unselected in the 2013 NBA Draft. He was picked up by the Cleveland Cavaliers to take part in the 2013 Summer League, allowing him to test his skills against fellow inexperienced players and prove his worth at such an elite level. He evidently impressed, as the Cavs offered Matthew a two year contract worth $1,300,000, a deal which admittedly paled in comparison to pretty much every other member of the roster. After averaging 17 minutes per game in his debut season, he was made to prove himself again in the 2014 Summer League - and again proved his credentials. After his form in this year's NBA Finals, a big contract extension is surely on the cards.
