10 UFC Bloodbaths You Need To See

2. Cain Velasquez vs. Bigfoot Silva

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CF4xg4JifKQ Event: UFC 146 After losing his UFC heavyweight championship to Junior Dos Santos at UFC on FOX 1, Cain Velasquez needed a win in order to shake off some ring-rust and earn a shot at redemption against the Brazilian puncher. The path to that redemption ran through another Brazilian heavyweight, Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva. Silva, meanwhile, had entered the UFC when Zuffa acquired Strikeforce, and eventually merged the promotion in. Strikeforce's biggest asset, no pun intended, was its stacked heavyweight division. Cain Velasquez would be Bigfoot's UFC debut. What a welcome. It didn't last long. Cain took Bigfoot down and unleashed a vicious ground and pound assault on the giant fighter, and his face looked something like a tomato by the end of it. After such a brutal loss, you had to wonder why, just a year later, and with Cain once again champion, a second fight was booked - even if Bigfoot had won two fights since then to earn a title shot, the first fight had been such a one-sided beating that we all knew how it would end.
