1. Rousey's Mom Calls For Her Coach To Be Jailed
How often does the parent of a world-class athlete call for their coach to be jailed? Never, and the day after never. Yet that's what is happening in the world of former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Her mother, a former Judo world champion herself (so she knows a little about success), has called her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan to be jailed, calling him a fraud, and pointing to a string of shady dealings he has had in and out of the MMA world. Speaking to Submission Radio, Rousey's mom, Dr. Ann Maria De Mars, stated;
"I told her flat out that I think that guy she was training with was an idiot and a fraud, and hes been investigated for bankruptcy fraud out here, for tax evasion, for mortgage fraud. They just suspended his license for falsifying the application, he was convicted of two counts of identity theft. And so we dont talk about that much because I told her flat out, 'as long as youre training with this guy, I just cannot stomach that."
Ouch. Seems like she hits even harder than her daughter. However, the controversy surrounding Taverdyan is nothing new - just recently, he claimed to have made zero income while coaching the most popular mixed martial artist in the world, and filed for bankruptcy.
