Minor League Baseball has two inherent qualities. Firstly it's incredibly American. Entire families can go to the ballpark and enjoy hotdogs and baseball for mere dollars. Secondly, it's weird. It has some of the most bizarre team names you could imagine, with teams such as the Bananas, the Lug Nuts and the Biscuits taking the field every summer.

To combine both traits, Minor League Baseball created a 'Jersey Joust', which in 2015 consisted of teams creating a unique jersey to embrace 'Americana'. This led to such a collection of hideous jerseys that it would be easy to have filled this list three times over with them. Doing so would take the attention away from the worst of the lot, however. The Norfolk Tides, a Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles decided to design a jersey in honour of America's sweetheart... Spongebob Squarepants.

Yes, a legitimate professional sports team went onto a field wearing a shirt featuring the face of a cartoon sponge. Intentionally bad it may have been, but it is still unforgivable.
