11. A 7-Footer Has A 17% Chance Of Becoming An NBA Player
Estimates indicate that if you grow to be seven feet tall (or over), you have a 17% chance of making it in the NBA, so highly valued are tall, dominating centres. The average NBA player is a shade off 6'7", showing the dramatic reliance teams have upon height. Despite some highly-talented exceptions to the rule, it's rare to see a sub-6 footer succeed at the highest level of professional basketball. The main reason the league isn't exclusively populated by two-metre giants is their general lack of mobility compared to shorter players.
