15 Worst Premier League Signings Of The 2014/15 Season

1. Radamel Falcao - Man United (£6,000,000 loan)

The twin titans of Di Maria and Radamel Falcao were hyped by many to catapult Manchester United straight back into title contention this season, but the latter proved to be just as big a flop as the former - if not more so. Hailed as one of the finest Colombian footballers ever, and the nation's joint top goalscorer, the striker arrived on loan from AS Monaco as part of a £6,000,000 loan deal. Surprisingly, Falcao found the net only four times in 26 league appearances, a contribution far below the needs of the struggling Red Devils. His season quickly became a series of embarrassments, from failing to have any shots on goal in a cup match against Preston North End, to being demoted to the under-21 squad for a match against Tottenham Hotspur. The Colombian's agent even revealed that his client had cried due to the alarming dip in form, a story which raised many questions about Falcao's ability to ever adapt to the league's highly-pressurised environment. United recently revealed that they would not be exercising their option to sign Falcao permanently - one of the least shocking decisions in Premier League transfer history, given the fact it would have cost an additional £43,000,000.
