Rooney surprised many with his self-deprecation earlier this season. Responding to leaked footage of an ill-advised boxing match with Stoke right back Phil Bardsley (in which Wayne caught a mean right hook to the jaw), he celebrated his next goal by repeating the incident in the public eye.
