National League East
Can someone tell the NL East what year it is? By all accounts the entire division went with Doc Brown back to the mid 90s. The NL East of that decade was primarily the Atlanta Braves and some other teams there because well, someone had to play. Dion Sanders helicoptered into the stadiums and the Braves had the most feared pitching staff since Satchel Paige went barnstorming. When Chipper Jones called it quits (to work on his golf game, hall of fame acceptance speech and come to terms with being awesome) that should have been an end of that era, except someone forgot to tell the Braves. With outfielders Jason Hayward and B.J. Upton actually struggling at this point in the season, the six game win streak they are on could be a sign of things to come and a compelling reason for the rest of the division to look toward next season. The Washington Nationals are hot on the Braves heels but the organization has a lot to prove in terms of putting its team in the best possible position come post-season. The Nats have a pretty enviable line up with second year slugger Bryce Harper as the offensive centerpiece and a solid pitching staff led by Jordan Zimmerman and the heavily scrutinized Steven Strasburg (still waiting for the ESPN Strasometer that follows his every movement and his heart rate). If they maintain consistency, they can make the pennant race interesting.

Dante R Maddox got started in writing about pop culture in 2007. He developed his conversational style majoring in English and minoring in speech communication, his desire to write as if he were speaking to the reader face to face was the bane of many professors. An odd blend of geek cred and regular fella chic', you're just as likely to end up talking about baseball or politics as you are about comic books and movies (just don't mention Tucker Carlson, you are addressing the man who will go to jail for assault in the future after all). He wrote a book called The Lineage of Durge that's available on Amazon for a small amount of money, he's writing a second while acting as Editor-in-Stuff over at Saga Online Press, there is a graphic novel expansion of his book series also in the works as well as continued development of his cheesecannon, one day Canada...one day (Seriously, a piece of ham, you slice it up and now it's bacon?!?!? I say thee nay!!!)
