2013 NBA Finals Preview
Small Forwards: LeBron James vs. Kawhi Leonard Kawhi Leonard drew the short straw; hes going up against the league MVP and best player in the world right now. This means that Leonard has two options, to either accept the fact that hes going to spend the next few weeks being embarrassed on SportsCenter on the hour or decide that this is his time. One thing that likely wont happen is James being held to a handful of points and fouling out every game, but that doesnt mean that Leonard cant make him earn every basket. LeBron is going to have to take every game a quarter at a time, and decide what role he wants to fill be it distributer or scorer. Truthfully Leonard, who has a great deal of potential, will not likely be more than an irritant. Leonard will need to work within the offense to get his shots and try and use his athleticism to pressure James as a defender. With an unselfish mentality, the Spurs will provide Leonard with plenty of opportunities to force the issue.
