2013 NBA Finals Preview
The Benches: Manu Ginobili could make a case for greatest sixth man of all time. If you gave him Sixth Man of The Year every year no one would complain. Hes the best player in a very select group of guys who are valued higher than the players who start ahead of them. Ginobili leading the second unit will certainly be the most likely advantage commentators will point to should the Spurs win the series. However there is player who is on the Miami Heat who is built for moments like this, Shane Battier. Battier wont set the world on fire offensively but could provide a serious deterrent to Ginobili having his way with the Heat. The former first round draft pick has made a name for himself as an excellent defender, plus Battier will not shy away from high stakes scenarios. How well Battier and company deal with Ginobilis instant offense could make the difference in the series. Norris Cole and Ray Allen will have a huge impact in the back court off of the bench, especially if they shoot well from three. On the other side DeJuan Blair and Matt Boner will tip the scales in the Spurs favor in terms of the front court off of the bench.
