4 Main Card Predictions For Bellator 123

1. Pat Curran vs. Patricio Pitbull

Weight Class: Featherweight Make no mistake: Pat Curran (20-5) is lucky to be featherweight champion right now. Curran pulled off a hail mary of a submission at Bellator 112 when he choked out Daniel Straus with under 15 seconds left in their title fight rematch. That was in March, Straus had taken Curran's belt in November. It was an instant rematch, and up until the choke, Curran was being beaten. Badly. Patricio Pitbull is arguably just as good of a fighter as Daniel Straus, and he is hungry. He has wanted this title shot for a long time, and has been very, very vocal about it, taking his beef over the instant rematch between Straus and Curran public. The elder Pitbull brother (21-2) has lost only to Curran, once before, for the belt, and Joe Warren. He's on a four fight win streak with victories over Diego Nunes and Justin Wilcox in that run, beating Wilcox to win the season 9 featherweight tournament. Aside from Straus, Curran hasn't lost since Eddie Alvarez took him to a decision back in 2011. This fight should be action packed, and it will very likely go all five rounds, although both fighters are capable of finishing. Though it's hard to win a belt by decision, Pitbull could do it, and we're going to call an upset as a motivated Pitbull dominates Curran and takes the belt after five rounds.
