1. Rick Story Defeated Gunnar Nelson
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUZgOQ5QX_Q Things had been going to well for the SBG fighters lately. The Irish camp saw all four of their fighters on the card for UFC Dublin in July pick up wins. Then a week ago Conor McGregor knocked out Dustin Poirier at UFC 178, possibly earning himself a title shot in the process. UFC Stockholm started out pretty well for them also, as Cathal Pendred picked up a split decision victory on the preliminary card. Then it came time for Iceland's Gunnar Nelson, given the headline slot for UFC Fight Night 53. Rick Story posed a tough but beatable challenge for him - yet he lost, in what should have been his moment to shine. Nelson just looked a step behind. Story looked good. The fight went the distance, and ended in a curious split decision - curious because we don't see how anyone could have seen the fight for Nelson. Gunnar will go back to the gym and get better, and meanwhile, the UFC needs to rethink fast-tracking the fighter, no matter how badly they want to build up European stars.
