1. He Has A Multifaceted Skill Set & No Weaknesses
Eventually all Supermen find their kryptonite. Fedor's was evolution, Silva's was arrogance and GSP's was pressure. So far Jon Jones has shown no signs of having any weaknesses whatsoever. His most recent victory over Cormier is a perfect example of this. DC is a two-time Olympian wrestler, and if anyone was going to have an advantage over Bones in that department it was going to be him. When asked to weigh in with opinions, the majority of pro fighters were picking him to take the title. But when the fight started that supposed wrestling superiority didn't exist. In fact, DC let his obsession with landing a takedown on the champ drain away the remaining time in the final round of the fight when he should have been swinging for the fences. And Jon Jones does things like this time and time again. Whenever you think someone has him outclassed in a certain aspect of the fight game he goes out there and proves his detractors wrong. This is a man who is supremely talented in every facet of mixed martial arts. His wrestling is top notch, submissions are deadly, clinch work, takedowns and top control superb, and his striking is some of the most unorthodox and innovative we've ever seen. There's no area where he isn't elite, and that's a scary thing. No one is saying you have to like him, including Jones himself, who has pretty much embraced the villain role he seems born to play. But you have to respect his talent and what he's already accomplished, which is frightening when you consider how little time it's taken him. Jon Jones is the greatest MMA fighter of all-time. Agree or disagree?
