4. Players Do Not Get Paid

Practice The NFL makes the players risk it all and they do not even pay them. The pre-season is not considered actual games and therefore they teams are not required to pay the players. They don't even get exhibition play. The NFL recognizes pre-season football as practice scrimmages. Therefore the players are only compensated with a per diem payment for their practice time. So the NFL makes a lot of money from TV contracts on four extra games and the players receive nothing.
