To be successful in Europe you have to have at least one player that is head and shoulders above the rest, providing the difference in those close games and saving the day when required. Barcelona have Lionel Messi, Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo, PSG have Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish striker is arguably the best in his position in world football. His scoring record this season is comparable with the likes of Ronaldo and Messi, as he has a ratio of a goal a game. The fact that he won't be at the World Cup in Brazil this Summer, as Portugal knocked out his side in the play-offs, will encourage Zlatan to make an impact on the Champions League stage. When he's at his best he is simply unbeatable. He can score with either foot, his head or from 40-odd yards out with a spectacular acrobatic effort- as England found out the hard way. He can push his French side past Chelsea as he is a world class striker, something that Mourinho doesn't currently have available for selection. In close games it pays to have a player of Ibrahimovic's calibre in the squad and this becomes even more important at the latter stages of the Champions League. There is no stand-out defence in the competition this season, which suggests PSG's main man will triumph against whatever defence he comes up against.
