5 Reasons This Could Be Vancouver's Last Shot At A Stanley Cup

4. The Aging Sedin Twins

At age 32, Daniel and Henrik Sedin are hardly old, and they have proven it in their on-ice work ethic. However, 13 of those years have been spent playing in Vancouver. They have lead the way in points for the team consistantly nearly every season in their tenure in Vancouver. However, as is the theme of this article, time is running out on the Vancouver Canucks winning a Stanley Cup Championship with the current core members of the team. Does Vancouver go the way of say the Boston Bruins sending Ray Bourque to the Colorado Avalanche in 1999 where he would eventually win the championship the next season, the same one that eluded him and his team a number of years? It was a tremendous show of respect the Bruins organization displayed for a man that gave it his all every game he played wearing their sweater, something akin to to the work rate of the Sedin twins in Vancouver. Though European ice hockey players are known for their longevity and resiliency, there is something to be said about the next factor.
